Ballia is one of the holy cities situated in the eastern most part of Uttar Pradesh. The city is just about one hundred and thirty five kilometres away from Varanasi. Bhrigu Temple in Ballia

Bhrigu Temple or commonly known as Bhrigu Mandir is one of the oldest and famous temples in Ballia. This temple is so famous that the city of Ballia is also called as Bhrigu Pradesh. This temple is built in the loving memory of Bhrigu Baba or saint Bhrigu. According to Hindu mythology, Bhrigu was one of the famous saints in the country. Most of the people in Ballia and neighbouring cities follow Bhrigu Baba and, hence, visit this temple very frequently to offer their prayers. It is believed that the couples who take blessings at Bhrigu temple lead a successful and happy life. There are many small temples in Bhrigu Mandir complex. Out of the various small temples Mahadev and Devi Mata temples are of utmost importance. Bhrigu Ashram is also situated here.

Ballia Baleshwar Temple

Another famous temple here in Ballia is Baleshwar temple. Devotees come all round the year to offer their prayers. Devotees have faith in Baleshwar lord and hence visit this temple frequently. This beautiful temple has unique architecture on its pillars and one of the major attractions of this temple is huge ‘Ghantas’. These Ghantas or in simple words bells are one of the things which are worth noticing. These Ghantas lies at the main entrance itself in the corridor of the temple.

Jangli Baba Temple near Ballia

This temple is located in Garwar which is about sixteen kilometres from Ballia. This temple is famous for Dhanteras fair which is held a day before Diwali. Jangli Baba Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located at the below address:

Kameshwar Temple

This is also known as Shiv temple. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is mostly over populated during the Shiv months of Shravan.

Narhari Das Kuti Temple

This temple is built in the memory of famous poet Tulsi Das.

Bramani Mata Temple

This temple is situated about 5 -6 kilometers from Ballia and is dedicated to Bramani Mata.
